During this in-person workshop you will learn the traditional technique of English Paper Piecing
(EPP). EPP is a hand sewing technique that involves folding fabric over paper pieces which are then
stitched together. It is a slow stitching process so it’s very relaxing and can be done anywhere;
sitting on the sofa, on the train or as I often do while sitting in the car while my daughters are at
activities.
During this 2 hour workshop you will learn 2 methods of basting the fabric to papers and how to
make a hexagon flower. Susan will also chat about what you can do with the completed hexagon
flower including how you can make it into a decoration, make more hexagons to make a cushion or
quilt.
How much sewing experience do I need to attend the workshop?
As long as you can thread a needle (with a needle threading tool if necessary) and sew a few
stitches you will manage this workshop.
What do I need to bring?
All the materials for the workshop will be provided but if you have fabric you would like to use
please bring it along (cotton or poly cotton only)
Will I completely finish the hexagon flower?
It is certainly possible to complete it in 2 hours but you can work at your own pace. As it is hand
stitching and you’ll have all the materials you will be able to complete it at home.
I want to continue EPP, where can I buy supplies?
There will be an opportunity to buy more papers and other EPP supplies at the end of the
workshop.
Tea, coffee and homemade cake is included.
